A tradition for the past 42 years, the New Jersey State Police will be
hosting three (3) Trooper Youth Week classes at the NJSP Academy, Sea
Girt, NJ. These classes will be conducted during the following weeks:

July 7 - 11, 2008
July 28 - August 1, 2008
August 4 - 8, 2008

The mission of the program is to educate, encourage, and motivate youth
to pursue a career in law enforcement with the New Jersey State Police,
other law enforcement agencies, or in another aspect of public safety.
The program is designed to build self-confidence and leadership skills
while learning to work together as a team toward a common goal.

Students for nomination must meet the following criteria:

Students must have successfully completed their junior year of High
School (11th grade) and have satisfied the requirements to enter their
senior year (12th grade). Sophomores who are currently 17 years of age
may also be eligible. Students must not have reached their 18th birthday
prior to the graduation date of their Trooper Youth Week class.

Good reputation and sound moral character

Must be recommended by High School Principal / guidance department, law
enforcement agency, a community representative, or religious leader

Must be in good academic standing

Must be able to participate in physical fitness activities

Must be able to participate in a structured well disciplined program

Must follow the no smoking or other tobacco products policy at the
academy
